We came up with the name Plata Aurum, because "Plata" is the word for "Silver" in Spanish, and  and "Aurum" is the Latin word for Gold.

"Plata Aurum" is Kate Alexandra Jewelry's signature blend comprised of three metals: gold, platinum, and sterling silver. This unique combination provides a strong, bright white metal that is highly tarnish resistant, and does not change color. This unique silver alloy is a superior alternative to sterling silver for these distinguishing qualities. It is comparable to gold and platinum in strength, color, and durability and yet is much more economical than these materials.

Jewelry Stocks Rise after Supreme Court Ruling on Same-Sex Marriage

On June 26th, 2015, the Supreme Court ruled to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide. Many were accurate in predicting the rise of jewelry company stocks - Blue Nile, Signet, and Tiffany & Co. all received stock rises up to about 1 percent following the ruling.

The Associated Press predicted that in the upcoming months there will be a surge of same-sex marriage and jewelry buying. This new niche in the wedding industry is here to stay and fantastic for our industry!

July babies are lucky to call Ruby their birthstone. Not only are rubies stunningly beautiful and captivating, but also they are the most valuable species in the corundum mineral family, (which also includes sapphires, another member of the species) and can command the highest per-carat price of all the colored gemstones.
